The All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari has won the presidential election in Lagos State. But the analysis of the voting trend shows an ethnic cleavage in the state The result released by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Lagos State on Monday evening, showed that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, won in five Local Governments dominated by Igbo residents. The Local Governments are Ajeromi/Ifelodun where the PDP polled 57,494 votes and APC, 37,715; Oshodi/Isolo, where the PDP scored 48,878 votes and APC, 42,585; Amuwo Odofin where the PDP got 39,391 votes as against 24,612 votes polled by APC. Governor Babatunde Fashola lost his Surulere Local Government to the PDP as Jonathan won there by polling 58,649 votes and APC, 52,798 votes. In Ojo, PDP polled 40,685 votes as against 26,117 votes for APC. The APC won in the remaining 15 Local Governments dominated by the Yoruba.
