WhatsApp to let users use same account on multiple phones

  In an expansion of the multi-device functionality the company began testing in 2021, you can now sync one account across up to four phones. Once you have access to the feature, you’ll see a new “link to existing account” option when installing the app on a smartphone. After tapping the button, WhatsApp will prompt you to scan a QR code on your primary phone, a step that involves navigating over to the “Linked Devices” section of the Settings menu on your main phone and tapping “Link a Device.” If that sounds a bit complicated, WhatsApp also plans to roll out “a more accessible” method for linking companion devices that will allow you to use the platform’s web client to send a one-time code to the phone you want to add to your account. WhatsApp says it will bring this new, easier linking method to other devices in the future. Don Lemon fired from CNN following allegations he mistreated female colleagues

Don Lemon has been fired from his role as an anchor at CNN, he announced Monday, April 24.   Lemon announced the news on Twitter, saying he was informed by his agent that he was being terminated. "I am stunned," Lemon wrote. "After 17 years at CNN I would have thought someone in management would have had the decency to tell me directly."  The news comes after Variety published a story earlier this month on allegations that he mistreated his female colleagues over the course of his career at CNN.  Also, earlier this year, he faced backlash over widely criticized comments he made on-air.  CNN CEO Chris Licht said that the network and Lemon have "parted ways," according to a memo provided to NBC News Monday.   "Don will forever be a part of the CNN family, and we thank him for his contributions over the past 17 years," the statement said. Kwara varsity lecturer dies in his sleep

  A lecturer at the Kwara State University, Malete, Dr. Ajeigbe Issa, died in his sleep at his home in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, on Monday morning. Ajeigbe was until his death the Head of the Department of Human Kinetics and Health Education and Acting Director of Sports at the institution. Confirming the lecturer’s burial in a circular on Monday, the Registrar of KWASU, Dr Kikelomo Sallee, said Ajeigbe died in his sleep at his home in Ilorin. It was gathered that the Islamic funeral prayer for the deceased lecturer was underway in Budo-Egba, Asa LGA, Kwara State.  

Kidnapped Kogi monarch dies in kidnappers den

  The traditional ruler of Aghara, Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of  Kogi State, Chief David Obadofin, has reportedly died in the custody of his abductors, 12 days after he was kidnapped. A family source stated that the monarch died last Thursday as a result of torture from his abductors. It was gathered that the abductors of the monarch had agreed to collect the sum of N2m for his release and one other lady, identified as Temidayo Elewa when the hoodlums noticed that Pa Obadofin was becoming too weak. A source added that while waiting for the ransom to be delivered, the hoodlums blindfolded the lady (Elewa) and relocated her to a different place in the bush in a bid to cover up their tracks.

Davido has revealed that he prays before mounting the stage to perform. The singer covered the latest issue of Forbes’ Afrobeats All-Star; Pioneering The New Global Sound. He said he learned a lot from his dad, Chief Adedeji Adeleke, stressing that he is humble, principled and a staunch Christian. The Omo Baba Olowo crooner said he inherited his father’s steadfastness in prayers. He said, “I learned so much from being around my dad, watching him in the office, hearing him on the phone, seeing how he handled life. He’s very humble, principled and a strong Christian. Before I step on any stage, my team knows not to mess with my prayers.” Davido went on to say, he initially hid his music career from his family because the norm was to go to school, graduate and then work for his dad.

Ex-Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey Launches Alternative App

  Jack Dorsey, the co-founder and ex-CEO of Twitter, has launched an alternative micro-blogging site available only on Android devices for now. The alternative platform, Bluesky, promises to be a future-thinking “social internet” that allows users more choices and frees people from platforms. The app is still in development and only available to access through an invite code. According to New York Post, Dorsey began working on Bluesky as a side project in 2019 with funding from Twitter. Many users of Bluesky say the app’s current beta version is similar to a pared-down copy of Twitter, Tech Crunch said. However, demand for the exclusive app has been growing, and the platform reportedly has about 20,000 users in its current form.

  Hon. Ismail Maihanci who is a member-elect of Jalingo, Yorro and Zing, Federal Constituency in Taraba State, has died. His demise was disclosed by a presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, on Twitter this morning April 22.    Posting via his handle, Bashir wrote ''Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un! Just received a sad news about the passing of our brother, Hon. Ismail Maihanci, a member-elect of Jalingo, Yorro and Zing, Federal Constituency in Taraba State.
