There was serious Pandemonium in the commercial border town of Mubi, Mubi South Local Government Area of Adamawa state on Wednesday following an explosion at Lumo Kuturu Market and one person feared killed.
There were conflicting accounts of the incident.Eyewitnesses in Mubi South said the explosion occurred when a gas cylinder fell out of a moving vehicle belonging to a new generation bank while police said it was a bomb planted by the side of the road targeting police patrol vehicle that went off.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Adamawa State Command DSP Abubaker Othman said a bomb planted by the side of the road detonated although he said the incident did not lead to any casualty.
The development led to a serious pandemonium in the town as people scampered into all directions for safety leading to a temporary closure of the market.
Immediately soldiers were alerted and they mobilized and cordoned off the area .
Hospital sources from the General Hospital Mubi said the lone victim died of cardiac arrest following the psychological trauma that he went through.
Kuturu Market is usually flooded with people every Wednesday which is the market day to transact businesses.
It could recalled that about three weeks ago, there was a bomb blast in the commercial town, near football field leading to the death of about 20 persons while scores sustained varying degree of injuries.
