An American woman by name Reverend Phyllis Sortor doing missionary work at a school in Kogi State was abducted by masked gunman, police say.
Kogi State police spokesman Sola Collins Adebayo told reporters that unknown gunmen first entered the school and started “shooting sporadically to scare away people” at around 10am Monday morning.
Reverend Phyllis Sortor was taken from the school and into the bush. Police suspect the motive for her abduction is for ransom payment.
