Sad news for Fifty Shades of Grey fans as the new book from E.L. James has been stolen.
The new book was set to be released in just one week, but police have now launched an investigation amid fears that it could be sold on the black market.
Grey was pegged to be released on June 18th, is a re-imagining of the original book – told from billionaire Christian Grey’s perspective.
It has been reported that a copy of the new saucy book was discovered missing and police were alerted.
The theft is now being investigated alongside its publishers Penguin Random House, amid concerns that extracts from the highly-anticipated erotic novel will be sold to the highest bidder on the black market.
Representatives for Penguin Random House did not want to comment due to the ongoing police investigation.
ames’ S&M trilogy became a global success, with its titles Fifty Shades Of Grey, Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed, shifting over 125 million copies.
The writer, who started the trilogy as fan fiction, is now ranked on the Sunday Times Rich List with an estimated fortune of £75 million.

James, who has a huge social following, revealed that she felt the need to write Grey for her fans.
“Christian is a complex character and readers have always been fascinated by his desires and motivations, and his troubled past,” she has said.
“Also, as anyone who has ever been in a relationship knows, there are two sides to every story.
“It’s been a great pleasure to return to my happy place – writing, being with Christian and Ana in their universe, and working with the fantastic publishing teams in the US and the UK.”
